This is a page of songs; for all the texts I have made melodies, but I can' t read music notes. Whenever you want to perfotm these songs you are free to make your own melody; don't forget to ask my permission for using the words...
most are in Dutch or in English, for some I made a translation,

Previous life (blues)

(view my performance on YouTube; i promise to replace it in time with a better one....)

Maybe you wonder
'bout those scars of mine
well it's an ole story down
the ruins of time

One day I travelled
to the south east,
a devil crossed my trail,
I thought my breath ceased

He hissed in my ear
those words of doom,
blue lights were flashing
all across the room

He scorched my heart
set fire to my shack
he took my liver
he broke my back

He cracked my bones
wrote a curse on my skin
I begged him to kill me
but he didn't give in

Now I did survive
I don't know how
Suppose he spared me
keeping a murky vow

Now you know why I 'm limping
got a hump on my back
why my eyes are so dull
and my voice is cracked

Well my dear lady
will you give me some wine
maybe a rest in your lap
or else spare me a dime

FLY THE CLOUDS (ballad)

fly the clouds and grow some wings
be an angel without sins
to find out
in the end the devil grins

shut yourself up in a hole
dig the earth you are mole
to find out
you end up shivering with cold

just lay down on the ground and please do
pray the heavens for some rain
so from the soil of shame and pain
may bloom a flower that shines with colours clear
and true

make your jokes and play the clown
collect applause all over town
to find out
you ‘re the saddest man around

like a bull you run your course
make your way by using force
to find out
in the end there is remorse

just lay down on the ground and please do
pray the heavens for some rain
so from the soil of shame and pain
may bloom a flower that shines with colours clear
and true

like a peacock try to use
a fan of colours of all hues
to find out
eventually here are the blues

be a mouse, avoid the eye
don’t stand up, don’t shout, don’t cry
to find out
that hidden anger makes you wry

just lay down on the ground and please do
pray the heavens for some rain
so from the soil of shame and pain
may bloom a flower that shines with colours clear
and true

don’t go astray and be a sheep
follow the leader, don’t think deep
to find out
you don ‘t live, you are asleep

like a snake under a stone
be vile and sneaky to the bone
to find out
your lot is bitter you ‘r all alone

just lay down on the ground and please do
pray the heavens for some rain
so from the soil of shame and pain
may bloom a flower that shines with colours clear
and true

Leonora 1 [ ballad poetic version ]

Leonora,
Your waist is like a mermaids song.
Your waterways
are flowing up and down so wishfully, so wistfully, so luring, reassuring,
whispering tales
about the sails
you might carry.

refr.
Don't fear
please come near
Let it be
me

Leonora,
You smell like the desert blooming.
And your hand
is opening slowly now, so very keen on taking care not to hurt,
or be hurt,
or be sold.
And to hold you
attracts me

refr

Leonora,
your toes are like the grapes of Eden
and your mirror
glimpses the sky, please make it clear, still more clear,
so we may know
it 's no show,
there 's no guard
to regard
with regret.

Leonora [ popular version ]

Leonora,
Your voice electrified me
and your eyes
were bold and told me, please do hold me tight.
't Was not only
we were lonely;
when I held
you I felt:
it feels so right.

refr.
No job, no money, no place of our own,
I am sinking.
But I 'm not stuck, I 'll have my luck,
as long as I can keep singing:

Leonora,
I know, where we are going
Your sweet love
is glowing, showing us the way out of the night
You and me,
we will see:
In the end,
round the bend,
shines the light.

refr

Leonora,
your kiss is like a magic healing.
And my heart
is softly reeling, full of feeling, full of joy.
In a few days
I'll find a place
to keep us warm
from the storm,
'cause I' m your boy.

Bruinen en grijzen
[ dutch ]

Bruinen en grijzen
ontwerpen het beeld
het oeverloos krijsen,
de schreeuw van de meeuw
verschiet en toont ontzet
een barst in het portret
ondanks de lijst die heelt

De streek van de zwerver
geleverd met zwier
in houtskool en met verve
beland hij op papier:
hij schudt uit zijn mouw
drie aapjes en een pauw
die verdrinken alle vier

Een regen van spelden
teistert de huid
van papieren helden
die roepen: vooruit!
ze vechten en gaan down
in 't kaartspel van de clown
die godlof troeft maar 't verbruit

Browns and greys [ english translation ]

Browns and greys
design the view
the fathomless screaming
the shriek of the mews
warps and shows upset
the crack in the portrait
despite the frame that cures

The rovers drawing jest
performed with grace
in charcoal and with zest
it lands on the page
he shakes from his gown
three monkeys and a pawn
who all four drown in a wave

A shower of needles
the tender skins flails
of paper soldiers
all calling: hail!
they fight and go down
in the card game of the clown
who thank god trumps but fails
